Our Story

La Catrina Tacos & Tequila offers a fresh take on authentic Mexican cuisine, serving classic dishes in a stylish and festive ambience.

Our founder, Ramon Michel, opened Cancun Mexican Restaurant in Carmel, Indiana 1991. He's a Mexican native who came on an adventure to make a better living, leaving his parents and siblings behind. Starting to work in Mexican restaurants back in 1980, learning the secrets of Mexican food. The founder, after many sacrifices and hard work, set himself a mission sharing the cuisine of Mexico, and his passion and Señor Ramon made his mark as the first Mexican dining restaurant in Carmel, Indiana.

His legacy lives on through contemporary interpretation of authentic recipes and techniques that are still used by our family today. His style, class, and unquenchable spirit continue to inspire not only every dish we serve, but also your entire experience at La Catrina Tacos & Tequila.
